9 months

During this last month Jack has begun clapping, clicking with his tongue, cutting a bottom tooth and has tried tofu, plums, cucumber, cheese, wheat bread, chopped zucchini with garlic and tonight he had tomato basil ravioli! Very Fancy! He lights up our life - something is new everyday! He is even THINKING about crawling! The last few days he has started to get on his knees a few times and rock back and forth! I invite a "late crawler" into our home - knowing life will change dramatically when he is on the move. This has been the best 9 months of our lives!

Easter

The Woods

First Family Easter

Uma Lyn and Jack

Grandma Sandy and Jack

We laid a blanket outside for Jack to play on

I made my very first carrot cake!

Families and neighbors gathered for a barbecue

Spring has sprung (on it's way at least)

Jack and Patrick went on a basket and egg hunt in the morning

It was fun to use our patio furniture - only the third time! I was excited about being outside and actually using our backyard!

The day after Easter Sandy had a great idea to put Jack's Johnnie Jump-up on the pergola - he loved it!

Little Monkey

This was the first outfit I received when I just found out I was pregnant! Stacy sent it with matching shoes (still too big) and a brown bow with a note attached reading "just in case"! Deanne gave me Cole's monkey shoes at my shower. Jack just now fits into his SIX MONTH outfit! It was surreal to put him in it - it hung in my closet for months! Thanks friends!

this day in history

A few minutes ago jack was biting my thumb and all of the sudden I said "ouch!" Sure enough . . . after 6 1/2 months of incessant drooling - a bottom left tooth is breaking through!!!!! He's growing up so fast!

tofu

About two weeks ago Jack tried tofu (also first non-pureed food) for the first time. I took a video of him trying it and experimenting, but the video was 3 1/2 minutes long and would have bored everyone other than grandparents! The video was also cut off due to the smoke alarm blasting because I had left the burner on high when recording Jack. This video is moments after his first few bites of tofu and as well as me fanning the smoke alarm with the dish rag. Jack has been really into nodding yes and no for about a month now - here you will see what his response is to liking tofu!

Introducing our latest trick!

Family Hike

We had yet to explore any hiking trails since we have lived here. Sunday was a beautiful day so we took ourselves to Salmon Falls Loop in Folsom. Jack sang and hummed the entire hike!

This morning the three of us ran The Natomas Fun Run 5 K!

Jack was bundled up and ready to go!

Afterward we deserved a hot cup of coffee at Starbucks!

Jack's first trip to the ZOO!

Jack and his friend Landon went to the zoo for their very first time! They enjoyed the flamingos most. The flamingos were the loudest, most colorful and closest animals to see! It was fun to watch the boys explore!

Jack also wore sunscreen for the first time in his life! It was a beautiful 70 degree day!
